Herodotos Herodotou

Assistant Professor

Dr. Herodotos Herodotou (male) is a tenure-track Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics at the Cyprus University of Technology, where he is leading the Data Intensive Computing Research Lab. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Duke University in May 2012.

Sotirios Chatzis

Assistant Professor - Director of SCRC

Dr. Sotirios P. Chatzis is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Informatics, CUT. Before joining CUT he spent many years performing research with the University of Miami, USA, and the Imperial College London, U.K.

Fragkiskos Papadopoulos

Assistant Professor

Fragkiskos Papadopoulos is an Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics at Cyprus University of Technology. He was previously an Assistant Professor (2015-2020) and a Lecturer (2011-2015) at the same department.

Michael Sirivianos

Assistant Professor

Dr. Michael Sirivianos is an Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering and Informatics. He holds a PhD from Duke University since 2010. His current research interests lie in the fields of security in social networks, trust-aware design of distributed systems, device-centric authentication and federated ID, large scale data processing, and discrimination based on web personal data.

Nikolas Tsapatsoulis

Professor

Dr. Nicolas Tsapatsoulis graduated from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the National Technical University of Athens in 1994 and received his Ph.D degree, in Image Analysis and Synthesis, in 2000 from the same University. In January 2008 he joined the department of Communication and Internet Studies (CIS) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) where he is currently an Associate Professor. His current research interests include multimedia information retrieval, biometrics and security, image image analysis and synthesis and collective intelligence applications.

Panayiotis Zaphiris

Professor

Dr. Panayiotis Zaphiris is a Professor at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), member of the Cyprus Interaction Lab (CIL), and director of the Social Computing Research Centre (SCRC). He is the co-founder of the Cyprus Interaction Lab, the first and only research lab in Cyprus specializing in the areas of Human Computer Interaction and Instructional Technology in Cyprus.

Vasiliki Triga

Assistant Professor

Dr. Vasiliki Triga holds a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the European University Institute in Florence. From 2007 until 2011 she worked as a senior researcher at the Centre for Research on Direct Democracy (c2d) at the University of Zurich. She has been teaching as a temporary lecturer at the University of Zurich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich (ETHz)

Despina Michael

Assistant Professor

Despina Michael-Grigoriou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of CUT, and the founding director of the Microsoft Computer Games and Emerging Technologies Research Lab – GET Lab (http://getlab.org), established with seed funding from Microsoft. She coordinates, on behalf of CUT, the inter-university postgraduate programme “MSc in Design and Development of Computer Games and Interactive Technologies”.

Andreas Lanitis

Associate Professor

Andreas Lanitis is currently an Associate Professor, in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts, Cyprus University of Technology and coordinator of the Visual Media Computing Lab. Andreas received the degree of B.Eng in Electronic Engineering (1991) and PhD in Image Processing and Computer Vision (1995), both from the University of Manchester, UK. Subsequently he carried out research in the Division of Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering, University of Manchester.

Andri Ioannou

Assistant Professor

Dr. Andri Ioannou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts (MGA) of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) and director of the Cyprus Interaction Research Lab (CIL), undertaking research on Educational Technology and Social Computing. Andri has a PhD in Educational Technology from the University of Connecticut (USA, 2009) and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus (2003).
